Terms of Service

By using americanpowerdirect.com or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them before you buy.
Orders and pricing
Placing an order is an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to cancel any order due to pricing errors, stock unavailability, or suspected fraud. If we cancel your order, you will be notified and fully refunded. Prices are in US dollars and subject to change without notice prior to your order being accepted.
Product descriptions
We make every effort to display accurate product information. However, generator specifications — including wattage, dimensions, and features — are set by the manufacturer and subject to change. We are not liable for minor specification discrepancies between our listings and the physical product.
Shipping
Generators ship via freight carrier, curbside delivery to the lower 48 states. Delivery typically takes 5 to 15 business days after the order ships. Someone must be present at the time of delivery to sign the bill of lading. Inspect the unit before signing. If you sign a clean receipt for a damaged shipment, the freight claim is forfeited. See our Shipping Info page for full details.
We are not responsible for delays caused by the freight carrier, weather, or events outside our control.
Returns
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unused generators in original, undamaged packaging. To initiate a return, contact us at info@americanpowerdirect.com before shipping anything back. Return freight costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the unit arrived damaged or we made an error. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days of receiving the return.
We cannot accept returns on generators that have been started, fueled, or used in any way.
Warranties
Generators sold through American Power Direct come with the manufacturer's limited warranty — typically 2 to 3 years depending on the brand and model. American Power Direct is a reseller, not the manufacturer, and does not independently warrant any product. Warranty claims are handled directly with the manufacturer. We are happy to help connect you with the right contact if needed.
Installation and use
Generator installation, particularly for standby units, must be performed by a licensed electrician. Improper installation or use of a generator can be dangerous. American Power Direct is not liable for damage, injury, or loss resulting from improper installation or use.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, American Power Direct's liability for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the product. We are not liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States.
